San Antonio River Walk
Our camphost suggested taking the bus downtown and I'm so glad she did. For $2.75 each we got an all day bus pass and didn't have to hassle driving and finding a place to park and the bus stop is right outside the RV park. We had a great day sightseeing. We started at the Alamo which was really interesting. Then we went down to the River Walk where it was cooler and spent the rest of the day wandering and taking a boat ride down the river. I took tons of photos and was happy with most of them. It was hard to narrow them down to these six. My main blip was taken from the boat. The first extra is another view of the River Walk showing the kind of boat we were in. Second extra is the three of us at the Alamo, taken by a nice man who offered. The third is an amazing Live Oak tree and the well at the Alamo. The fourth is an interesting building that looks like just a facade from this angle (taken from the boat). And the last is Piper and her dad at the end of the day.
Speaking of Piper, she continues to amaze us with her excellent behavior. She had all kinds of firsts today and took it all in stride. She had never been on a bus, never been on a boat and never had to wear her vest all day in such a humid climate. We brought a small bowl and lots of water to keep her well hydrated and she did fine. She got a lot of attention, which she loves. She was such a good girl that she got a scoop of vanilla ice cream as a reward. :-)
It took us a while to find the bus stop for our return trip but we managed and we were glad to sit and relax on the way back instead of fighting the traffic and almost certainly getting lost.
We are all hitched and ready for an early start in the morning. It will be a long driving day north to Wichita Falls where we'll spend two nights to relax before we head into New Mexico for the last leg of our adventure.
I am grateful for another nice day! :-))
....trying again with the extras. I could only get the first one loaded.
Ok, they finally loaded...but not in order. Oh well, too tired now to make any more changes.
