In Search of Eels!
Ely Cathedral
“The festival weekend launches with our amazing Eel Food Safari which runs across all four days of the Eel Festival. As in previous years, some of the finest restaraunts, cafes and other businesses in Ely have put on their thinking caps and created an impressive line up of dishes and beverages including or inspired by eels.” www.elyeelfestival.co.uk
A quick trip on the bus into Ely again this afternoon to: a) pick up tourist info for this weekend’s trip to the east coast, and b) to buy some Eel Fudge, especially made for Ely’s Eel Festival Food Safari! Walking past the cathedral, I couldn’t resist stopping for a blip or two, especially as, no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t get a photo of the Eel Fudge without reflections, which is why you’ll find it as an extra, along with my view from the bus, heading across the Fens on a beautiful Spring day...
And it really has been a beautiful Spring day, temperatures still at 20 degrees this evening when M and I headed to the supermarket to stock up for the weekend!
(Sorry about all the extras, as before, they’re there as a personal record of my trip, and also so that I can include them in my annual blip book. Thank you for your kind comments and stars.)
