Ciao

Great word ciao...one of the few Italian words we know yet the most versatile.

Today we queued up for the Vatican (in the rain) only to find that the Sistene chapel was closing early so we wouldn't get to see it...the kids were disappointed :-(

This evening we hung out in a bar in Trastevere and then went to the restaurant where we got engaged 14 years ago...it looked different to how we remember it. Maybe it wasn't even the right one! It was definitely the correct street though! Lovely meal anyway.

When our taxi arrived to pick us up, our daughter went marching out the door to jump in saying 'Ciao, grazie' to the proprietess as she passed, much to her amusement. At least she tried!
