A Monkey's Tale

By MonkeyWithAView

It's all gone spoOOOoky on all Hallows' Eve

Second day at the Office (thankyou for that one Spishy, seems so obvious now) & things don't seem much better.

After quickly discovering that I still couldn't get into the learning database & not being given anything useful or even remotely 'job' related to do, I proceeded to peruse the Guardian website, one of only a few websites I have discovered we can gain access to at work. I'm fairly certain it was far more interesting than anything work could have given me to stay occupied & I'm now up to speed with the U.S. Election, which is pleasing, as I was feeling quite out the loop with the whole shabang. It's actually quite nice to have the chance, & the time of course, to take a leisurely look at the headlines.

After lunch & a welcome coffee with Jenny at Starbucks where we both exchanged our morning moans, I was given the task of archiving files. It sounds exotic, but it really isn't. Although it wasn't particularly glamorous, it was strangely nice to have something to do & to feel useful. 4 hours & 5/12 boxes later, I was free.

Now onto the juicy, exciting part of the day. We had decided a few days previous that a pumpkin carving competition was in order. The day had arrived & in our teams of 2, the girls, Ri & Jen v the boys, Jamie & myself, we went to town on those fleshy miracles & were slicing & lighting until we were spent.

As Ma was diplomatic in that annoying-please-just-make-a-decision-&-pick-one-classic-motherly-diplomacy-way, we've decided that blippers of blipdom should be the ones to determine the winners of this contest. If you could be so kind as to place your votes, that would be fab, or you can just guess which one you think the girls did & which one the boys. And obviously I'm not going to tell you who carved which one :D

We did have a wicked time though & we're all really pleased with the masterpieces we created. Modest as always.

Choose wisely.

Hope everyone is getting suitably prepared for Halloween.
