Saturday: Ovaltine Café

We had intended to go to 'Jam', downtown, for breakfast but the queue was horrendous so we knocked that idea on the head. It turned out fine as, instead, we went to the legendary 'Ovaltine Café'. We've been meaning to try it for ages - it's virtually unchanged since the 1940s. The area around it can be a bit forbidding as it's in a pretty downbeat part of town, but it's entirely worth it.

This evening it was off to the Vancouver Yacht Club where the Oxford and Cambridge Society were having their annual Boat Race Dinner. They'd asked me to give their keynote address.....more fool them. So I definitely had to sing for my supper.
