What to do on a blazing day?

Yesterday was a hot, blazing day and so is today so what to do? We didn't have any choice really as we are having new carpets fitted throughout the sitting and dining rooms and the stairs and landings.
Today was mostly taking up the stair carpet, cutting up the landing carpet so it will snugly fit into the back of the car. Paint the stairs, banisters, spindles, dado rails and skirting boards.
All in all quite an exciting day, and tomorrow doesn't get any better when we start on the downstairs! Actually, I think we'll start tonight, I don't want to be behind when the fitter comes Tuesday morning.
