An ordinary life....

A Slap Dash kind of day...

Got a text from Agnes at 8.30 this morning to say she's on holiday this week and did I fancy going out for lunch.  As it happens I already had a lunch date planned with Lj and Gill so invited her along.

I was slightly disappointed when I opened the bedroom blinds to see grey skies but by mid morning the grey was replaced by blue skies, fluffy white clouds and sunshine.

Alan's new support worker Craig had his first shadow shift from 9am-1pm.  He was shadowing Christine today.  By the time I came downstairs Christine had him hard at work tackling Alan's ironing.  He is a lovely lad and I am sure he will fit right in.

David headed off for a golf lesson just after 11.00am and Agnes picked me up at 12 o'clock and we headed off to Broadslap Farm Coffee Shop (or SlapDash as Lj calls it :-)  Lj and Gill were already there.  We had an absolutely delicious lunch and a lovely catch up with much laughter as we reminisced about past get togethers.

Lin the new proprietor was there and came and chatted to us.  We don't think we will be able to take Lola to Devon on our summer holiday as we've got to take Alan's shower chair (we thought we could hire one but his is too specialist) so there won't be room for it and Lola in the car.  Lin has very kindly offered to look after Lola for us while we're away but she already has six golden retrievers to look after, the coffee shop to run and gun dog training to do so wouldn't add to her workload.

We asked if she had any of her Goldens with her and she did so when we left we got to meet the lovely Tigan.  Ten years old and a distinguished gentleman (see extra - Tigan with Lin)  He is absolutely gorgeous and so gentle and friendly.

After lunch Agnes and I headed back to mine and gathered a jug of iced grape and blackcurrant water and some glasses and headed out to sit in the sunshine.  Two days in a row sitting in the garden with the warmth of the sun on me.  It must be a record!

Just had dinner and now about to investigate the option of having Alan's shower chair couriered to and from the holiday house, although I think our friend and Lola's breeder Carole (who also offered to take her but she has enough on her plate too!) has a good friend who may be able to dog and house sit for us, which may end up being the perfect solution.
