The yurt

On the third day, we arrived at the yurt I had reserved last August. Umpqua Lighthouse State Park is the home of the oldest lighthouse in Oregon, erected atop a heap of sand dunes at the confluence of the Umpqua River and the Pacific, flashing its light and sounding its note (an A minor, I think). The yurt is beautifully situated next to a little lake with its own solitary Loon uttering a baleful but musical wail. Inside the yurt there's a toilet, a shower, a microwave, and a fridge; two futons, a lovely bed, and a table; canvas walls, a skylight, and two splendid heaters. I guess it's "glamping" instead of camping. The main photo is moss hanging off the trees. First extra is Sue, lying down on the bench outside the doorway to the yurt, doing her hand exercises as she does every waking hour. The second shot is hers--we were in the middle yurt.
