Queenzieburn
Our Tuesday walks with Cumbernauld & Kilsyth Ramblers are usually local affairs, with the occasional foray to Falkirk, Stepps or Coatbridge. As a result, we tend to find the same routes repeated in our summer and winter programmes, maybe with a slight variation from time to time. However, new routes do appear in our programme and today was one such day.
Meeting in Kilsyth, we headed north and uphill out of the town, following country roads, part of a disused railway line and some farm tracks before returning to Kilsyth via Queenzieburn a couple of hours later. It was a most enjoyable walk with 27 starting out today. The rain stayed off until the last 15 - 20 minutes and, even then, it was no more than steady drizzle until we returned to our start-point.
The photo shows us having our short 'banana break' about half-way round and I've also added an extra of us all taken about 20 minutes earlier.
