Wanderings & Witterings

Back blip

Wednesday's walk with Cumbernauld & Kilsyth Ramblers was a 'there and back' walk to a viewpoint on Gallangad Muir, from where we should have had excellent views over Loch Lomond.

The outward route was fine: good paths and tracks, with the odd muddy (sometimes very muddy) stretch but, as we neared the viewpoint, the steady drizzle started. By the time we reached the viewpoint, the rain had got heavier and the blustery wind stronger.

We abandoned the idea of having our lunch break there and headed back down towards the tree-line where, thankfully, there was a bit more shelter. We were also fortunate that the rain eased a bit before turning quite showery for the walk back to the cars.

The extra photo shows our view of Duncryne Hill and Loch Lomond on the outward leg of our walk, when it was still overcast but relatively dry.
