A foodie kinda day
Today has been good.
At our Thursday lunch club, each week one of the parents bakes cakes for the group. It was a delicious looking apple cake today but I managed to resist because I knew what was coming later.
In this week's surplus food crate we were given a cauliflower and a pineapple (amongst other random things) and so at Food Club tonight we made spicy roasted cauliflower wraps with pineapple and coriander and they were so ridiculously good that I know I'll spend a lot of time daydreaming about them over the next few days. So good.
From there it was onto a certain special young lady's 1st birthday party where we were treated to delicious cake and all stared adoringly at the birthday girl, as is only appropriate for such a special day. Keep an eye out for other blips of the wondrous cake.
From there onto a second dinner at the Food Hub's Annual General Feast. More surplus food there, this time made into a delicious veggie lasagne and a fruit summer pudding. We spent some time, alongside players from the big supermarkets, dreaming up ideas to reduce food poverty in our town.
A good, satisfying day.
