Flower Friday: Tulip

Inspired by blipper rainie's gorgeous flower photo on a textured background today, I thought I'd have a go at this sort of technique myself. It's the first time I've tried it in earnest and I'm not entirely happy with the result: maybe I should have chosen a different flower and/or a different background! However I was keen to blip a tulip in the garden as they're only going to last another 2-3 days. I tried a yellow one first but preferred the effect with this red one.

Any comments/hints on how I could have done it better will be gratefully received. I tried reducing the opacity of the Photoshop layer with the flower on it, to allow the texture to show through the petals more, but it looked too dull then.
