Change of scenery

Today a group of us went on a visit to the Botanic Gardens in the west end of Glasgow.  Although, since it was a lovely day, we didn't go into the building, but instead went for a walk along the banks of the River Kelvin. The park is very well used, especially by cyclists.  There were lots of interesting features in the park including, the Maryhill Locks and the Kelvin Aqueduct, a navigable aqueduct that carries the Forth and Clyde Canal over the River Kelvin (seen in extras).  At the time of its construction around 1790 it was the largest aqueduct in Britain. 
The main blip shows a weir on the River Kelvin which at one time serviced one of the paper mills, although it is difficult to obtain accurate information from Google.  I probably would need to research history books etc. ... it currently takes me forever to post and comment !!
