Suddenly It's Bug Heaven
I was a bit disappointed by the cool, dull weather this morning but perked up when I reminded myself that it's much easier to capture butterflies and bugs in such conditions.
I tried to capture the above green veined white (I recognised its wing damage) yesterday in exactly the same position when the weather was warmer and very windy. No problem today, in fact it was so still on the greater stitchwort flower that I wondered at first if it was dead.
On the left is a rustic sailor beetle, in the middle is a beautiful green sawfly and on the right a click beetle is just taking off. I got lots of other bugs too, including a St Mark's fly and a red damselfly before the torrential rain set in.
