Mother's Day in the US.... I just read about the history of Mother's Day and of course it was never meant to be so commercialized. In fact, the person who started it in the US spent a good part of her life trying to get it off the calendar. In my case, I had a very nice chat with my son to start the day.

We went for a walk at the park - these are some irises that have turned wild, growing in clumps in very wet spots.
