This little birdie sure knows how to live in the limelight.
Today was the stuff weekend dreams are made of:) I had to wake up early for a 9:30 am appointment at the bank, so afterwards, I treated myself to my usual tall non-fat latte at Starbucks, with a side of a lil birdie from the Christmas clearance pile - its handmade-like appeal was too cute to say no to.
My bf and I then headed off to Dressew to shop for some samples of inspiration, and not surprisingly, it was a typical Saturday morning fiasco of women, scissors, and measuring tape in the basement of ribbons, buttons, and other assorted goodies. I emerged from the stairway unscathed, and only lost an awesome purple sequined and yellow beaded trim that I may or may not have already paid for. I was kinda bummed about that, but I reminded myself that I had survived the crazy chaos with a handful of shiny ribbons and sparkling trimmings.
We headed over to Brioche (www.brioche.ca/) in Gastown for lunch - my bf had the smoked salmon pasta and I had the prisutto, tomato, and cheese-that-I-don't-remember panini. The wait time was a little sketchy - the pasta arrived first, and then the food of others who ordered after we did arrived well before my panini ever made it to our table). However, I would still go back for another visit because I would like to try the Sauteed Calamari, Capers & Olives in Garlic Tomato Sauce. I heart capers!
The last stop of the day was the Burnaby Golf Course at Eagle Creek to take a whack at my wallet. Sugarlime (www.sugarlime.com) was having a blowout sale there complete with complimentary wine. Having arrived a lil over an hour after the sale started, all that was left were the sim pickings. However, I still left with a pair of bright fuchsia red swarovski crystal earrings and a the brass Blue Tiger Butterfly necklace. I seldom buy expensive jewellery for myself because I am honestly quite happy with cheapie, discounted pieces from chain stores like Le Chateau or Reitmans - it really doesn't take much to make me happy! And I do make my own jewellery on the rare occasion, but that day, I spoiled myself with a coveted piece (or two) of Hollywood North.
My bf also spoiled me by buying me an early Valentine's Day present - the Sophie, a 14 kt. gold fill and black crystal butterfly necklace. Thank you! :3
The links of the necklace chains reminded me that I need to know what the quick access shortcut for the Links palette is. But what I really need to know is whether it is possible to have two palettes open in CS3 without having to drag them out from the sidebar, like in previous CS versions...
