Bark Lice

Saw patches of these pests in various spots in the crepe myrtles. I was worried about what damage they were doing and so scrapped some into a pill bottle and took them to the Arboretum this morning.

Turns out they are Bark Lice and are beneficial little critters as they eat the dead bark and fungus, essentially cleaning up the trees. Yay!

Then I went to the DMV to renew my drivers license. Walk in and show that I have the right documents and get given a number. Sit and wait 2-1/2 hours!

Hand over documents, read one line of letters for the eye test, have picture taken and done. I had to wait 2-1/2 hours for something that took less than 10 minuets. Very frustrating but it’s done now.
