That’s Greek for a very large storage jar, I learned today.

Seen at Malia, made by a Minoan potter about 4000 years ago, pieced together again by archaeologists fairly recently.

It has come through earthquakes, invasions, the collapse of the whole civilisation.

Hard to believe.
