Saltaire

A new superlative walk today, starting in Saltaire, near Bradford and passing through woodlands and on to Baildon Moor. Three superlatives: The Leeds-LIverpool Canal, which is England's longest canal; the birthplace of Sir Fred Hoyle, the astronomer who first described the Big Bang theory; and the Shipley Glen Tramway, which is said to be the oldest working cable tramway in Great Britain (although this is disputed by some.)

Lunch at the Boathouse, located on a narrow strip of land between the Canal and the River Aire, was also pretty damn fine - especially the Saltaire Blonde beer.
