Cheers!
Happy Friday evening! We went to the museum in Heraklion this afternoon, and saw some beautiful Minoan art works. This lady is on a restored fresco from one of the palaces, and she looks as if she's having a good time. The chap in the extra, not so much.
This morning we were at another archaeogical site, Lato, high in the mountains. It was quite a hike, but the views were wonderful - out over the Sea of Crete. They certainly knew where to build.
Then it was on to the tiny church at Krista, which is covered inside in 14th Century frescos. Too small, dark and crowded for a good picture, but still impressive.
Today is World Museums Day, apparently, so it entry was free. Which is probably why everywhere was so busy.
Tonight I'm relaxing with a glass or three of Cretan red, just like the lady in the the fresco.
