Proud Babywearing Daddy

Today I photographed a wedding, my first since having the baby. I must be honest I've been dreading it the past few weeks as I couldn't see a way that I could get it done with a very young baby - luckily Oli was coming with me to help (LOTS!).

I had expressed milk, Oli made himself a base camp in the hotel lounge, and I had asked a photographer friend of mine to join me as a second photographer so that I could cover the posed and reportage shots while he was free to move around for the candid

Luckily I had the opportunity to feed the baby myself most of the day but to stop any screaming starvation "I have never been fed" episodes, Oli had given Noah two bottles of 2oz expressed milk to tide him over until I could get to him. I felt sick from missing the baby even though I was with him most of the day. At the beginning there was two hours where I was away from my men (a few rooms away doing the "bride prep" photos) and at the first opportunity I ran back to my littlest boy and gave him the biggest squidges possible - it was horrible being apart from him.

This photo was taken in the break before the evening do. Baby was fed, changed and sleepy so daddy decided to wrap him up in this lovely Hoppediz Capetown wrap which was generously given to us by a very very good friend. We had the intention of using it for a "Wrap conversion" by a company called Monkey Mei Tai but having seen it on him and worn it myself we're becoming a tad attached to it! It looks so smart! The hunt is now on for a different wrap to convert.

We had a lot of compliments on our well behaved boy, and Oli was asked a lot of questions about babywearing and the wrap, and the wedding was lovely. Bloody exhausted afterwards though......
