Tulips from Amsterdam

To me it's hard to think that this is a tulip.  During the day they open so widely probably to absorb as much sun as they can then in the evening they close up again as can be seen in the extra; although I don't think it is the same flower exactly.  I bought the bulbs in Amsterdam (Schiphol) airport 2 years ago and I am so pleased with them.   I would like to cut the flowers for indoors, but I don't know if that would prevent them flowering the following year.
