Bayou Sauvage

On our way out of New Orleans, heading east towards Florida, we called in at this National Wildlife Refuge. Lots of birds to be seen but also a lot of insects. As well as the attractive ones like this (I don't have a butterfly book for N America - if anyone can give this a name I'd be grateful) we had to contend with the newly-emerged deer flies, which were a bit of a nuisance.
