St Luis to Cercal

Final days walking - 21km, mainly through eucalyptus plantations with occasional glimpses of the sea near Vila Nova de Millefontes (where we stayed earlier in the trip.)

This was not the most scenic section, so the picture is of a lemon tree at the S Luis hotel.  I always think it is amazing to see citrus fruit growing freely.

A long, and as promised, tough walk to Cercal.

Arrived in town late afternoon and reached gratefully for a beer in a small bar.  We sat on a window sill outside, as the inside was dominated by men drinking and singing.

This reminded me of an observation I made early on in the holiday, in that nearly all the work done in Portugal seems to be done by women.

Still the end of the walk merited a minor celebration.
