A busy harbour
We arrived in Whitstable Harbour as the fishing boats were unloading their catches . Whitstable is known for its oysters, cockles and whelks. Everything was very colourful.
We walked towards Herne Bay on the Tankerton Slopes and back to Whitstable town. Although everywhere sells the sea produce and there are lots of cabins on the seafront with benches outside selling oysters etc we opted for pasta in Zizzi which was very tasty. It was my fourth meal out this week and I shall soon be forgetting how to cook.
After lunch we walked on the shingle beach to Seasalter. This section of the coastline is very quiet and remote although there are quite a few contemporary houses overlookng the sea.
It's our second trip to the kent coast this week. We are making the most of the good weather while it lasts.
My extra is the tropical lookjng garden belonging to a house on the beach. Is this really kent?
Hope everyone has a good Bank Holiday weekend.
