Going Underground in Montreal

The guide books say that Montreal has 20 miles of connecting underground passages in the city centre and this is one of them. On a rainy day like today this means that you can go up stairs, down escalators, through tunnels, along covered walkways, through shopping malls (easy) and food arcades (not so easy) and walk miles further than if you were just walking from block to block. But if you have a leaky shoe then that's OK.
