Wild poppies

Today's the day .......................... for flowers for free

I love the hedgerows at this time of year.

Resplendent with all sorts of colourful flowers that would rival any cultivated garden, they have just got on and done it all by themselves.  These yellow poppies looked absolutely luminous in the dappled sunlight under the tree canopy - and were in sharp contrast to the leafy green of the ferns.
