Poetry, Yes Please

Went to see and hear the wonderful Roger McGough today, along with an audience of ageing hippies.
He did look out at us at one point and realised he had to backtrack his point that 'The Scaffold' might not be known to us.
His hour of entertainment went far too quickly. John Sessions did a great job of compering too.

I love when I read or hear poetry that is straightforward to grasp. I was so often put off at school when obscure verse was thrown at me in which my brain had to do great battle to try and understand the meaning. (Although for some reason Shakespeare did not come into this category for me).
