Greenhouse at Winterbourne

We decided to do our food shop in Selly Oak in Birmingham this morning so that we could then stop for lunch at one of our regular haunts -Winterbourne House and Garden, the botanical gardens of the University of Birmingham.

It was a dull morning and as we drove into Birmingham it started to rain, but by the time we had done our shop and eaten our lunch the rain had stopped and the sun was shining.

Not surprisingly, the gardens are looking far from their best right now, and even the autumn colours on the leaves didn't provide a good subject for any photo, so for my blip I have settled on this shot inside one of the greenhouses. This greenhouse is full of tropical plants that provide food, drinks and spices: coffee, tea, bananas, chillies etc.
