Edinburgh
We met J & S at Kings Cross for our train to Edinburgh. I took smoked salmon, cream cheese, bagels and pastries to be enjoyed with a glass or two of prosecco and orange juice.
The further north we headed the cloudier and mistier it became. We arrived around lunchtime and brrr it was a lot cooler to what we had experienced at home. We were able to dump our luggage at our Airbnb apartment although we couldn’t get in properly until 3pm. Off we went to explore, stopping at the tourist information to pick up some leaflets and then a coffee to discuss what we wanted to do. Anyway, we bought a 48 hour pass for hop on hop off buses and entry to three main attractions.
Off we popped to one of the buses for a tour around and by the end of the tour the sun made an appearance, always a lovely bonus (but still a little chilly for these soft southerners ~ although the men are never cold and wore shorts all week).
Back to the flat for a little chill before having dinner in a little Mexican near our flat.
Main blip was taken on our bus trip (open top bus) and an extra just to prove the sun came out ;-))
