Spoleto Charleston, Day 3
This morning at the Charleston Saturday Market, new friends.
Late this morning, we attending our third chamber music concert, for me the best one yet. A solo clarinet (Todd Palmer) by Messiaen, the Schumann clarinet work “Fantasiestucke”, two miniatures for piano (Rachmaninov and Prokofiev) played by Inon Barnatan, and “Daphne for Violin and Bass/Narrator by Doug Balliett, composer in residence and played by Owen Dalby violin and Balliett. Very Hamiltonesque. The program concluded with the 6th Brandenburg.
A quick tour through the Gibbs Art Museum and a Theater piece Calle “The Flying Lovers of Vitebsk”, not for my taste. Looking forward to next year.
