St Clere House
This morning I visited St Clere House near Sevenoaks in Kent. It is a privately owned house where the family live, and they sometimes open it up for estate tours. It is also a very popular wedding venue and has been used as a location for adverts and films.
We had a walk through the pine arboretum with the estate manager and down the hill into the gardens. This is a view of the conservatory which is where wedding ceremonies usually take place with the guests on the lawn outside it. I loved that large cedar tree in the garden, and it also had a wonderful smell. I have added an extra of some huge poppies that were in bloom, they were magnificent. After our tour we were served lunch in the dining room by the owner of the house - a lovely light lunch of salmon and salads.
It has been a bit misty all day so the far reaching views over the North Downs were not very good today. It also was a rather cool when we were having our tour, much cooler than yesterday.
I have a rather busy week with many things on - including going to Cambridge to see Adam on Wednesday.
