If you can't beat them...

30 Days Wild Day 3 - Fir Clubmoss

The final day of the anniversary weekend.  Some of the group were going for a walk and after the success of my walk yesterday "Tush"suggested I should join them.  How long will you be walking I asked?  "Three hours you know how it is when you are walking, stopping, looking at things and talking.  Well R L Tushingham Outdoor Pursuits Instructor (retired) either you were having me on or your ability to judge how long a walk will take has slipped seriously since you retired.  We were back at the centre in 6 hours.

He was right about the stopping.  Being in the company of like  minded people, in the mountains on a lovely sunny day is a joy.  Every plant was examined and identified (well OK not everyone but lots and lots) birds were watched and discussed, reptiles and amphibians spotted.  An extremely pleasant day with a great deal of personal satisfaction.  7 miles in mountain country with no ill effects (well the odd aching muscle the day after)

The blip is Lycopodium selago taken for 2 reasons:  The first being our personal "Go Wild in June" challenge the second being nostalgia.  I spent a very happy week running transects up the slopes of Cnicht and studying the various Lycopodiums while on a Biology field course.

The extra doesn't show escapees from an old folks home!  It is the group photo of "Team Tushingham" after we had visited Llyn Biswail, Llyn Yr Adar and Llyn Llagi.
