Leaf Litter
A lot of the autumn tint that was up in the tree canopy is now on the floor. Of course, as the canopy is thinning the daylight is getting through and occasionaly the sun brightens up the leaf litter. At the moment most of it is dry so when you walk through it you get that rustling in the leaves. The wind piles them up into corners or drifts on the sides of paths. An open invitation for kids of all ages (including me) to scuff through the piles and kick them into the air. A simple pleasure of my childhood which has never left me.
