Art in Progress

I had grand intentions of something special for my 500th blip, along the lines of a local with his Fiat 500. Alas there is never one around when you want it. Instead I spend all day in meetings in Dubai, so just had a change to quickly take this at the reception with my BlackBerry.

DiscOriental, by Chahine Khosravi is the sculpture outside Jumeirah Creekside Hotel, commissioned by l'Atelier Camelia for the hotel's art collection. It is a laser-cut composition of painted steel leaves, 1500 x 400cm, but to us it looks more like a large pile of bird droppings. Perhaps this is why it is now 'in progress'. More art in the hotel is here
