Anyone for a swim?

We had about six inches of rain overnight, onto already-wet clay soil, which of course became saturated, running in a torrent from the fields, into our garden, flooding the swimming pool, veg garden, greenhouse, shed and out into the road and over into the farm opposite.
We woke up at 5.30am to find water leaking through our bedroom ceiling, so I ran to get a bucket, and Mr F went out to turn off the power to the pumps in the pool house.
During the day the lake receded and torrent of water stopped running off the fields, but we are left with a muddy pool and a patio which needs pressure washing again!
