I took myself back up into the local nature reserve, hoping to catch sight of the little grebe that had its nest inundated by recent rainfall. Unfortunately, despite hanging around for some time and checking the margins of the canal I didn't come across it. There was a coot who had created a nest right in the centre of the canal, thankfully well above the current water level.
It was a cold but gloriously sunny morning, which turned into a stunning day. I just liked how this flower was kissed by the first rays of sunlight edging above the hedge that bounds the reserve on the east.
