The dropped stitch

This beautiful Acer is in the garden where I was cutting grass this morning. I love it! The leaf colour and shape and its bold statement in a sea of green.

Known to the gardener as 'Edna', after the Cats Protection colleague who gifted it to her as an unpromising 'stick in a pot', it came to Orkney from the north of England and was planted in this sheltered garden 10 years ago.

Busy but good day. Met a friend and fellow blipper by chance on my meter-reading rounds this afternoon. That was a nice surprise!
