Loch Turret
What a glorious day! Cold but glorious!
I first took the dogs around our normal walk and was surprised to see that there had been a fresh fall of snow on the hills and they were looking fabulous set against the autumn colours and blue sky. I knew the forecast was for more rain later in the week and as I could see that Glen Turret was looking splendid in its winter colours I then decided to drive up to the Loch itself. I had been meaning to do this for a while but had always been too short of time on the few days when the sky was clear of mist.
On my way up the narrow single track road I could see a bird of prey circling high in the sky but couldn't detect what it was, although I think it might have been a Red Kite. By the time I was able to stop the car and get the camera pointed in the right direction, it had gone! While stopped I noticed wonderful horned sheep quietly watching me from their field. This one I am sure is saying "baah humbug!"
There didn't seem to be much wind in the valley and I was hoping that the water surface on the loch would be still enough for reflections when I got up there, but it was not to be. The view was well worth the detour though and I stayed awhile enjoying the scenery and feeling the cold air coming off the water while the dogs enjoyed having an extra explore.
