Ribwort Plantain
Went out on the usual Thursday afternoon walk with friends along the seafront from Fairhaven. We walk just over 4 miles.
At the end of the walk we stopped to look at the many grasses and plants growing in the sand and dunes. I couldn’t remember what this stuff is called, so I put it on ISPOT and got the answer within minutes. It seems to grow much taller and stronger in the sand at St Annes than it does in richer soil, so I found it all a bit confusing!
There was a lot of sea pink and sea holly around, but the holly hasn’t flowered yet. I will be sure to photograph and blip it when it does.
