Open Road
It's the last full day with the hire car, so we decided to head to the East Coast to check out some old familiar roads which we haven't been on for ages. There was a small problem of a business meeting getting in the way. 2pm nearly got cancelled, then changed to 4, then 4:30 in a new location.
Anyway, we met up and it was very good and encouraging. Our new and old web developers have now met and have agreed to work together looking after different aspects.
I thought it would be pushing it trying to get to Dibba in an hour, but we decided we'd try. For all the new roads that have been constructed in the last few years, it is still impossible to get to the East Coast in under 90 minutes, so we agreed to turn back at Dhaid on a road that has beautiful and varying scenery. It was around Iftar time, so we were pretty much the only car on the road. G managed to get this shot through the front windscreen.
Prior to all that, Peugeot called in the morning asking for a part to be returned??? On closer enquiry, it was to do with the ignition key which G had changed when we dropped the car off. Apparently, the new fob needed programming, which makes me think that we could have had G's car this past week whilst we waited for the Volvo part to arrive. Argh!
As we were in the neighbourhood, we popped into Carrefour. They have the official FIFA 2018 merchandising out. Yesterday I got G an England slap band. It was the only thing they had for England. Today, they had scarfs, face paint, key rings, t-shirts, shorts, you name it! G is now ready for the World Cup. She even got a football.
