Couldn't have got closer if we tried
Blipmate and I went off to Kaiteriteri to look for kereru on the way to Kaiteriteri that Trev and I had seen last Sunday. They were no where to be seen so we carried on to see kingfishers in a back lagoon. Well we found there was a bird convention going on. At least five kereru in a tagasastes tree, flapping and cooing. We were at arms length to some. You couldn't miss. I have only managed to look at a few of my photos.
Down the road were ducks (we think a different sort), a little shag, pied stilts, welcome swallow, kingfishers and white faced herons. Then a chap biking past said he had heard about a fern bird in the area. We just need the kea to come back and we would truly be in heaven.
Extras- the smoother one with sx60. Quite a difference.
