A Walk in the Park
A lovely sunny day
We set off for a visit to Scone Palace to use tickets I had got on the Itison Voucher site, only to find when we got there that the whole place had been hired for a Potfest (whatever that was) and so we couldn't get in.
However, just down the road we saw the Quarrymill Woodland Park, somewhere we had never been. It turned out to be a most beautiful walk in the park. It is owned and maintained by the Gannochy Trust, founded by A.K. Bell of the whisky Distillers. There is also a lovely Café run by the Macmillan Cancer Relief charity so, all in all, the day was anything but wasted.
In the late afternoon, along with our 15 year old Granddaughter, we watched the film, Darkest Hour, about Winston Churchill at the most critical time of the 2nd World War, just before Dunkirk in May 1940. It certainly was well made and well acted and showed how close Britain came to surrendering to Germany. I guess the film is as popular with Brexiteers as Braveheart is to Independence minded Scots!
It you would like to see a few more photos of the Park have a look at my Flikr Album here. You might also want to see the Map for the location.
