Waiting for the Start

An Ironman triathlon was taking place across Staffordshire today, starting at Chasewater Park.  I headed up for the scheduled start of 7:00 am only to be confronted by thick fog enveloping the reservoir and surrounding area.  I ended up looking for some spectator shots while I was waiting and this gentleman and his dog were the pick of the action.

When the event started an hour late I headed up to the end of the first leg of the swim about 500 metres from the start.  I really wanted to capture the melee of bodies in the water and the hundreds of people still waiting to start, an awesome sight (see extra).
