Astrantia

Astrantias are in full bloom now too. They seem to find it a bit dry in our garden and are among the first plants to wilt in hot weather, so they take more looking after than you normally expect to do with border plants. We might move them to another area of the garden in the autumn, although I'm not sure we've really got the conditions for them to survive without help. Apparently, collecting and sowing seed from them can produce new plants in interesting colours, so I might give that a go if we find a good spot for them. They're lovely flowers, sufficiently unlike anything else to always draw particular attention to themselves.
