Backside
More liquid-y in large.
I'm going to guess that this is some kind of skimmer dragonfly (though it didn't exactly match anything I could find in books or on the internet).
At a glance, she's a bit plain... but once I got the chance to study her up close, I was intrigued by the liquid-like pattern in her tail. She's actually quite pretty upon closer inspection.
Last summer (our first summer in this house) we had one type of dragonfly. All be it, dozens them... it was just the one kind. This year, we have almost a dozen different kinds. I'm tickled with that development! I suppose it hasn't hurt that we have been to the plant shop so often that we are now on a first name basis with them... More and more and more flowers. :)
