Macadamia robbers

This guy and his mate were scavenging for windfall macadamia nuts this afternoon. They picked up the nuts with their claws and cracked open the shells with consummate ease with their beaks.

Not content with the stuff on the ground, this one -- undeterred by my presence -- flew up into the tree and helped itself to some more.

Not sure there'll be too much left for anybody else after the cockatoos have had their fill.
