Lava Rock Pools

Today we went across the middle of the island For the high views but the the mountains were in thick cloud and it was raining. We had a cup of coffee at the top and then went on to the north west point- Porto Moniz where there were lots of rock pools in the volcanic lava. The sun was out by now at sea level and people were bathing in the pools. We had a nice lunch before driving back to the apartment. We managed to get a hour or so laying in the sun in the garden. My sister in law and her husband have been coming to Madeira for over twenty years so they know it well and are excellent guides.
