A Waddling of Ducks

I saw these ducks waddling along the beach, then they went up the grassy slope and across the road.  Why didn't they fly I wonder?

As you can see it is another cloud inversion, which has hung around all day.  I had morning tea with my photography friends, then picked up little 'h' from school, and we are going to play our ukulele's and piano after enjoying a sumptuous afternoon tea!  I have had the fire going all day, nice.
