It seems that the snake situation has escalated. First we get the dead one, then a live one in the greenhouse. Today, I was happily tinkering in my garage-come-workshop, when the door was almost smashed in by a panicked Mrs SoL. It appears that she was just about to empty the lawnmower bag onto the compost when something moved next to her. Not stopping to find out what, the solid oak doors of the garage were nearly off the hinges. I went to investigate and found these two. Same as before, Couleuvre, harmless, but in the throws of conubial bliss. The floods have got them all moving to higher, drier and warmer ground. Somehow, my reassurances that they won’t harm her are falling on deaf ears. Mrs SoL is threatening to move to an upstairs flat in a city somewhere. Looks like I’ll be doing the mowing for a while. At least until she returns from the city - which apparently has no snakes. Little does she know..................
